Senior G Bryson Robinson |
The Privateers seemed game for a fight, but were overtaken by host Stephen F. Austin's superior talent and depth in an 81-74 defeat on Saturday afternoon.
Bryson Robinson hit some shots from downtown to keep New Orleans (7-16, 3-10) in the game early, but SFA established control and took a 19-point lead into the locker room. UNO continued to fight and made headway in the second half, but couldn't get closer than the final seven-point margin against the first-place Lumberjacks.
Robinson led the Privateer offensive attack with 26 points, including four three-pointers. Troy Green added 13. Jahmel Myers chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds.
New Orleans will continue its road trip at Central Arkansas on Wednesday night.
