SFA Smothers UNO in Opener

New Orleans eventually got on track in Nacogdoches, but it was too little, too late in a 78-67 conference opening loss at Stephen F. Austin.

The Privateers, who shot 25% from the field in the first half but 62% in the second, didn't hit a three until the last 25 seconds of the game and turned the ball over 23 times, falling to 1-8 on the season and 0-1 in the Southland Conference.

As usual, Troy Green and Damion Rosser provided most of what little offense UNO had, combining for 41 of their 67 points.  Rosser had 22 points and Green 19.  Rosser also led the Bucs with 6 rebounds.

New Orleans will head to Central Arkansas on Wednesday before opening their home conference slate next Saturday.
