Sophomore Tyson Jackson |
The Privateers (3-6) trailed 8-0 at the outset but fought back to within two after a Troy Green heave found the net at the halftime buzzer. UNO briefly flashed ahead 49-48 for its only lead of the night before immediately surrendering a 10-0 ULL run, after which the host Cajuns never looked back.
Tyson Jackson had a remarkable night to share the lead in scoring with 17 points on 8-for-8 shooting. Simeon Kirkland also bolstered the UNO inside attack with 17 points of his own. Normally prolific Derek St. Hilaire was held in check with just 9 points on 2-for-11 shooting.
UNO will get a week off before heading to Utah State next Saturday night.
