Privateers Fall at UMass in OT

In a rematch of the 1991 Great Alaska Shootout final between then-relatively-unknown coaches Tim Floyd and John Calipari, the Privateers took UMass to overtime but ultimately lost, 103-95. It was the best outing of JUCO transfer Erik Thomas' young UNO career, as he posted a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Kevin Hill missed a would-be game winning jumper at the close of regulation.

Six Privateers scored in double digits, led by Thomas. Freshman Cameron Reed had 15, Hill and Christavious Gill added 14, Nate Frye 11, and Tevin Broyles 10.

New Orleans will head to the Cajundome to take on UL Lafayette on Monday evening to complete its non-conference road schedule.
