Turnovers Bury UNO in Loss to SLU

For the second time in three days, Southeastern Louisiana beat New Orleans, this time 80-64 at Lakefront Arena.

The Privateers (6-14, 3-6) shot well, especially from deep at an 8-for-12 clip, but launched fewer shots due to a huge turnover problem.  UNO had 24 giveaways, which did not give them a real chance to keep up with the first-place Lions.

New Orleans led 17-8 before surrendering an 18-2 run from which they never recovered.  They trailed by 13 at the half and, after a brief comeback attempt, were blown out, trailing by as many as 23.

Jordan Johnson again led the UNO scoring with 26 points and five threes.  Tyson Jackson was the only other Privateer in double digits with 12, but he fouled out for the second time in as many games.

UNO will stay home and rematch with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi next Thursday evening.
