Turnovers Bury UNO in Loss to TAMU-C

The Privateers did a lot of things right on Thursday night, but a barrage of second half turnovers did them in as they fell 63-58 to Texas A&M-Commerce at Lakefront Arena.

New Orleans (6-11, 3-3) posted a strong first half, leading 37-27 at the break and finishing the half on an 11-2 run.  But the Privateers posted just 21 points in the second frame, largely because they were throwing the ball away before they could get shots up.  The Lions chipped away at the lead and finally overtook UNO with some late threes.

The loss overshadowed a strong showing for the Privateer frontcourt, with Simeon Kirkland's 15 points and 9 rebounds as well as Tyson Jackson's 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Jordan Johnson also contributed 15 points to go along with 6 assists, but also had 6 turnovers.  UNO had 18 giveaways as a team.

New Orleans will try to right the ship on Saturday as they stay home to face Northwestern State on Saturday afternoon.
