Privateer Men and Women Both Win

The UNO men's basketball team got 18 points from sophomore Nate Frye in the first half and cruised to a 90-60 victory over Central Baptist Tuesday night at Lakefront Arena. Frye had 22 total on the evening and led four Privateers in double digits.

In the night's first game, the Privateer women claimed their first Division I victory in two seasons by knocking off Kent State, 58-55.

Kevin Hill: 12 pts, 11 rebs at IU

The Privateers (3-5) completed their six-game non-conference road schedule at historic Assembly Hall in Bloomington, dropping a Monday night contest to the Indiana Hoosiers, 79-59.

New Orleans was led in scoring by Tevin Broyles, who poured in 18 points. Kevin Hill had a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

UNO will conclude its non-conference slate on New Year's Eve Eve (Tuesday, December 30) at Lakefront Arena against non-Division I opponent Central Baptist.

Privateers Upset SIU in Carbondale

The Privateers (3-4) pulled off a 56-52 road upset on Friday night at Southern Illinois, notching their first win over a Division I program this season. New Orleans overcame an 11-point second half deficit en route to the win.

Sophomores Christavious Gill and Tevin Broyles led UNO with 11 points each. Kevin Hill grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the team. The Privateers shot a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line.

New Orleans heads to Indiana on Monday night in a game that will be televised by the Big Ten Network.

San Diego Drills Privateers, 85-60

The Privateers (2-4) continued to struggle defensively in San Diego, surrendering 53% shooting and 45% from beyond the arc in an 85-60 loss.

Forward Kevin Hill led the way for UNO with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Nate Frye was the only other Privateer in double digits with 10.

New Orleans continues its road trip this Friday night at Southern Illinois.

UNO Wins A Shootout

The Privateers (2-3) fought off a challenge from NCCAA opponent Crowley's Ridge, pulling away late to a 100-85 victory at Lakefront Arena.  The game was tied as late as 68-68 before New Orleans asserted control.

Freshman Colton Weisbrod again paced UNO in scoring, leading the way with 23 points. Sophomore Christavious Gill added 18.
