In a game that featured an absurd 104 total free throw attempts, the Privateers fell at Nicholls in their first ever Southland Conference basketball game by a score of 88-83. Cory Dixon led New Orleans with 21 points in the foul-plagued league opener, and Jeremy Smith paced the Colonels with 17.
