UNO Sweeps Pitt Ahead of Big Week

The Privateers (9-2) notched their third consecutive weekend sweep, this time blasting the error-prone Pitt Panthers of the ACC by scores of 12-5, 13-6, and 8-5 at Maestri Field.

UNO got strong starts on the mound from Shawn Semple and Riley Hodge once again, and Daniel Martinez got out of a bases-loaded jam on Sunday to help preserve that three-run victory.

New Orleans will face a stern test this week, with non-conference tuneups against Southern and Tulane before the Southland Conference opening series at Maestri Field over the weekend against perennial league power Sam Houston.
