Finally, the Privateers (8-7, 3-1) were able to open a double-digit second half lead and hang on, scoring an emphatic 79-66 victory over McNeese State Saturday afternoon at Lakefront Arena.

The first half was sluggish on both sides, but Bryson Robinson banked in a three at the buzzer to send UNO to the locker room up 30-25. New Orleans forced a slew of second half turnovers, expanding the lead and hanging on through a brief Cowboys rally to win comfortably.

Robinson led all Privateers with 17 points. Damion Rosser added 15, and Jahmel Myers had another strong effort with 13.

UNO will stay home for its next game, getting conference heavyweight Stephen F. Austin on the lakefront on Wednesday night.
