TAMU-CC Ends UNO Winning Streak

Ezekiel Charles
Going for their fifth win in a row, the Privateers (9-8, 4-2) were stoned by a very stingy Texas A&M-Corpus Christi defense, falling 76-61 to the Islanders on the road Saturday evening.

New Orleans jumped out to an early 12-5 but then surrendered 14 points in a row, creating a deficit from which they would never recover.  They did pull within three at 31-28 at the half after a flurry of steals and transition scores, but TAMU-CC opened the second frame on a 6-0 run to reestablish control.  The Islanders shot 54% from the field.

Ezekiel Charles led the way for UNO with 13, and Damion Rosser was the only other Privateer in double digits with 12.

UNO will continue its road trip on Wednesday night at Central Arkansas.
