A back-and-forth game all the way, UNO led 37-34 at the half and took a 57-52 lead on a Damion Rosser dunk before the Demons began to take control down the stretch and eventually overtook the Privateers (4-11, 3-4).
Rosser led UNO with 17 points and 9 rebounds, though he shot only 8-for-21. Derek St. Hilaire had 12 points, all in the first half, and Jahmel Myers also had 12. Northwestern State shot 52% from the field and outrebounded the Privateers 38-31.
New Orleans' road trip continues in Hammond on Saturday afternoon as they'll take on Southeastern Louisiana.
